  2. What You Need to Do

    To help us process your claim faster, please:

    • Take all reasonable precautions to prevent further loss and/or damage to your device (that’s a no brainer but we need to say so just in case)
    • Lodge your claim by calling us as soon as you can after the event. Alternatively, simply fill in this contact form and we can call you back
    • Take note of the specifics to your type of claim (we’ve listed those below)

      Remember: If you are making a claim for your mobile phone or tablet, please also contact your voice and data telco provider ASAP to suspend the service and limit unauthorised usage (just ask them to suspend the use of your active SIM card and block the IMEI number). We'll ask you for confirmation of this as part of your claim. 

 

 

In addition to the steps for all claims, please provide us with a Statutory Declaration detailing the circumstances which led to the accidental loss of your device. Click here to download a Statutory Declaration form. Please be truthful – intentionally making a false statement in a Statutory Declaration is a criminal offence.

In addition to the steps for all claims, we need to check out your device to assess the damage. We will make it as easy as we can for you to send your device to our nearest authorised repairer.

In addition to the steps for all claims, notify the police if your device is stolen. We will ask you for the police report reference number.If you have photographs or receipts we may ask for those too.

No, not at all. You are covered the second you walk out of the store. So if you accidentally drop your brand new device, we’ll fix it!

We will try to get your repaired device back to you within the guaranteed repair period (but we can’t promise!). The guaranteed repair period begins when our repairer takes possession of your device and ends in three business days (mobile phones), seven business days (tablets, notebooks and electronic readers) and 14 business days (other devices such as portable audio/visual equipment, cameras, and wearable electronic devices.

These vary amongst different manufacturers so refer to your manufacturer’s instruction booklet. You may also want to record it somewhere safe upon purchase as the box usually notes it too.

Do not worry at all as we will have it and can send you another copy.

It’s as easy as asking your sales rep instore when you purchase your new device. They’ll do all the paperwork for you so you can walk out with immediate cover.

It is up to you but we are a specific insurer who specialise in coverage for mobile and portable devices. Taking out specific insurance for your device is especially popular for people who have no existing contents insurance or who have higher excess on that cover. You should also check if you are covered for travel in New Zealand.

If your product has been changed over with a different brand or size, you will need to contact us to cancel your DevicEnsure policy. We will refund you the unexpired portion of your premium on a pro-rata basis, less any applicable taxes, fees and other charges. 

If you cancel your DevicEnsure policy within 21 days of purchasing it, we will provide you with a full refund of your premium. If you cancel your policy after 21 days, we will refund an amount calculated for the unexpired portion of your premium on a pro-rata basis, less any applicable taxes, fees and other charges .Please see the for full details.
